NUART FRINGE EVENT – SLAM POETRY AT SPIN
Just as art has oozed into the cultural vaccuum finally left behind as the worst of excesses of the Oil Industry continue to depart the Granite City, so too has the spoken word. Almost every month a new forum has appeared in Aberdeen giving local and in-aboot-comers, alike, the chance to speak, rant, recite their innermost thoughts; both the dark and the light.
All exist to encourage people of all ages, and all backgrounds, to “take the mike” for a slot which showcases the rich diversity of talent, language and nationalities that Aberdeen holds within her steeny bosie. On Friday, 19th April, 19.20-22.00 , Equinox presents Slam the ‘Deen, at Spin, where the very best and baddest of local poets, balladeers and songsters will do their thing – and it might even rhyme!
