Martyn Reed (NO/UK) is a British curator, art director, writer, artist and cultural producer based in Stavanger, Norway. He is the founder of Nuproductions Limited and curator of the Numusic (est. 2000) and Nuart Festivals (est. 2001). He is an independent researcher and Editor-in-Chief of Nuart Journal, the founder of I.C.A.S, International Cities of Advanced Sound Network, co-founder of Tou Scene cultural centre, former board member of Urban Nation and regular contributor to Juxtapoz Magazine.
Much of Reed’s work and the platforms he creates, whether small scale club events with pioneers of Detroit techno or large scale arts events for European Capital’s of Culture, revolve around presenting art as part of everyday life using subcultural strategies, alongside D.I.Y values and thinking. He has written extensively on street art and related practices and is dedicated to broadening access to the arts whilst promoting class diversity.
